Estancia Los Patricios

San Antonio de Areco, Argentina

Located approximately 60 miles west of Buenos Aires, this estancia was started in the late nineteenth century by a French-Basque family. Maria is a descendant.

When the house was built in about 1895, there were no trees on the Pampas and the two towers on the building were used to watch for invaders.

Juan tells our group about the estancia.

Center, above: This 1930 Ford bus is one of several old cars and buggies in the estancia vehicle museum.

Following a barbeque meal, we are entertained with folk dancing.
