We enjoyed a walk through nearby scenery. |

Puerto Montt, Chile
At Puerto Montt we anchored off shore and rode a tender, actually one of the life boats, into a dock. This city, nearly 700 miles south of Santiago, is at the southern end of the Chilean railway and the continental portion of the Pan American Highway. The region is known as the Lake District for the many cerulean lakes which lie below six major volcanoes and many smaller ones. Some refer to the area as Chile’s Switzerland. We saw only the bases of these volcanoes because of cloudy weather. |

At one stop we had a look at some llamas. |

That evening on the ship Jane was drafted into a key part as a reluctant bride in a Neil Simon play. She got a good laugh when she appeared on stage saying, “I’m ready now.” |

The cast included Jane in their curtain call. |
